FRESHEN UP, WITHOUT WASHING

FRESHEN UP, WITHOUT WASHING

Excessive washing of denim garments—or any clothes, really—is something to avoid. So what should you do when a pair of jeans or a denim shirt is in that in-between-washing state? The state where it doesn’t exactly smell of sweat and isn’t stained or visibly in need of a wash, but still lacks that fresh feeling. Instead of tossing the clothing on a chair—or worse, into the washing machine—try a few sprays of our Denim Refresher instead.

Washing denim too often wears out the fabric and its fibers, leading to unnecessary premature disposal of the garment.

Each machine wash with most denim fabrics releases microfibers and microplastics into the marine environment. Aquatic animals ingest these microplastics, affecting their overall health, and over time, these plastics move up the food chain. Moreover, washing denim too often wears out the fabric and its fibers, leading to unnecessary premature disposal of the garment.

With the right maintenance, a good pair of jeans can be kept for a very long time. A lifetime is our goal.

Make sure to spot clean when and where needed instead of washing the entire garment. To achieve that fresh, newly washed feeling without actually washing, use our Denim Refresher. This spray have anti-bacterial properties - killing the bacteria causing odors. Spray the entire garment, focusing on odor-prone areas, and let it dry. For a tougher freshen-up, place the garment in the freezer for a few hours, then follow up with the spray.

That said, garments should still be washed when necessary. In those cases, make sure to turn the clothing inside out and use low-temperature water. Always check the washing directions on the specific garment.
